Russian Philharmonic in IAMA

Since March 2010 Moscow City Symphony Orchestra “Russian Philharmonic” is affiliate member of International Artist Managers’ Association – IAMA. “Russian Philharmonic” became the first full symphony orchestra from Russia which joined this organization.

IAMA is the only worldwide association in the sphere of classical music management. Major concert agencies, opera companies, venues, symphony and chamber orchestras are full members and affiliate members of IAMA. Initially the Association was founded as the British Association of Concert Agents in 1954 until January 1996 when, due to its international membership list, it officially changed its status to an international association with membership open to any professional artist management company and to those associated with the classical music world.

IAMA's purpose is to bring good business practice to the sector so that confidence is inspired and a measure of security lent to those working within the classical music sector. It seeks to stabilise working relationships and is sometimes called upon to act as a mediator for its members with problematic situations.

Since 1991 there has been an annual international conference now recognised as one of the premiere forums in the classical music world. Representatives from over 30 countries attend this conference. To date the conference has been held in London, Amsterdam, Glasgow, Leipzig, Vienna, Genoa, Prague, Stockholm, Berlin, Luxembourg and Paris.

Mr. John Willan is Chairman of the International Artist Managers' Association.

Mr. Atholl Swainston-Harrison is Chief Executive Officer of the International Artist Managers' Association.

The IAMA office is located in London.
