Ãàÿíý ØèëàäæäÿíGraduate of the State Musical Teachers’ Training Institute named after M. Ippolitov-Ivanov majoring in piano and of the Moscow Institute of Finance and Economics.

In 1990-93 she took part in founding the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow (the artistic director and the chief conductor of the theatre was Evgeny Kolobov), where she held a position of the chief administrator. In 1993-98 she worked in the Moscow Musical Theatre “Helikon-Opera” (the artistic director and the chief director Dmitry Bertman) as deputy (of the) director.

In October 1998 Gayane Shiladzhyan applied to the Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov with a proposal to found the Moscow City Symphony Orchestra. In April 2000 the Moscow City Government enactment of the foundation of the Moscow City Symphony Orchestra “Russian Philharmonic” was issued. G. Shiladzhyan was appointed director of the orchestra. In March 2001 the first concert took place at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Because of the director’s talent for organization and her competent management the orchestra successfully performs both in Russia and abroad.

Since the opening of the Moscow International House of Music the orchestra is based in MIHM. The Moscow City Symphony Orchestra “Russian Philharmonic” gives 60-80 concerts every season.

In April 2004 Gayane Shiladzhyan received diploma “For major contribution to Russian management developing” at the Russian Managers Forum.

In 2005 G. Shiladzhyan was instated Honoured Culture Worker of the Russian Federation and also won the VI Moscow Contest “A Woman – Director of the Year”.
